Our Keyshield® Finish
Our exclusive KEYSHIELD® powder coat finish is a proprietary two-coat system designed to deliver exceptional product quality and long-term rust prevention. All Keystone Ridge Designs steel furnishings receive this industry-leading finish, applied to a durable 7–15 mil thickness for maximum corrosion resistance and surface protection.
The process begins with thorough substrate preparation. Each product is sandblasted to remove surface contaminants and create ideal adhesion. A corrosion-inhibiting phosphate coating is then applied, followed by a two-step powder application. The first layer is a zinc-rich epoxy primer, used exclusively on sandblasted parts for enhanced rust defense. The second layer is a colored polyester powder topcoat, chosen for its lasting color retention and resistance to weathering. Both coats are electrostatically applied and oven-cured, creating a non-porous, satin-like finish that’s smooth, consistent, and incredibly resilient.
